You hear all the stories about finding your passion. Yes, me too. Then one day as I worked on a project for a large company I realized that the best part of that project was spent building simple experiences, fun gatherings, weekend workshops, sharing business strategies and helping each other learn how to use the tools in their small businesses and blogs. It was the one job I wasn’t hired to do on that project, yet it was the one that brought joy simply by solving the problems at hand. The problem I keep facing is one that I believe many women face…how so many smart women are clever about the needs of their loved ones, work, and even neighbors…but clueless on how to be good to themselves. I love gathering women to share time creating together. Sometimes its something as simple as a craft, other times its gathering for conversations and lifelines together. We all have so much to share, I wanted to be intentional in as the my 2014 year of allowing comes to a close to create a space in my life, in my practices, to share with others….to throw caution to the wind and dare whimsy…to find time to live in that space of fellowship and expectancy of the joy of gathering friends.
A life long learner and educator, Dare Whimsy is my indulgence of activities I love to do with fabulously gifted women who share, care and teach each other as we share life! Gathering women and daughters puts a smile on my heart. It’s a joy to keep working with people as a strategist creating solutions for their business or project needs, but personally I want more…more fun, more fellowship, more flights of fancy that can be done on a frugal budget. As a wife, mother, stepmother and woman who owns a business or three, I know the value of fellowship, of sanity found by the insanity shared and the joy of laughter among friends near and far.
